At elegant social events, there are men and women in handsome extravagant attire, bow ties, embroidered monogrammed shirts, pleats, cuffs frills – some items cashmere, some in silk – every item must have a place to ‘hang’ or ‘be put down onto’ every night – You see politicians on the news in their suits, you see magazines, page after page of fashionable people wearing wonderful clothes. So what happens to these clothes at the end of the day?
Clothes one presumes must be worn at least one more time , perhaps, or if not, at least not destined to a heap of fabric on the floor – realising that , at the end of a long day there can’t be many of us who, with energy, presence of mind and a sence of order, can hang all the items up in the cupboard or coat hangers.
